March - 2024 - Windscreen washer pump failure.
In this car there is one pump with two outlets. One outlet for the front windscreen and one for the rear window.
Anyway, the front still worked, but the rear did not. Studied some schematics and it appears that the pump is having an constant 12v and ground is made directly via the lever at the steeringwheel. No relay there.
I ordered an new pump at 'en.impex-jp.com' and installed the new pump. Pretty much straight forward. Removing inner liner and swap pump.
All good now.

April - 2024 - Temperature gauge failure.
The coolant temp meter was failing now and then. Sometimes the needle showed cold and the Omori temp gauge showed normal 80°C.
Since the sensor are sitting at the same spot in the "coolant neck" on top off the engine, it can be the gauge is failing or the sensor.
Swapping the sensor is the easiest part, so this was the first step and it solved the problem, me happy :-)

December - 2023 - Dutch Toyota Celica Club.
Went to an club meeting and made it to the front page off the magazine, nice :-)    TCCN magazine.

November - 2023 - Cooling problems solved.
Old fan did not fit the Mishimoto, so I got myself an slim Spal fan: Spal.
Old top brackets did not fit either, new ones had to be fixed. Mishimoto and fan in the car: Rad in car 1 Rad in car 2.

October - 2023 - Cooling problems, the 20 year old tripple pass Ron Davis radiator is leaking.
At the same time I saw that the TRD thermostat is stuck too, no good.
After a long ride, the next morning, there is a lot off coolant on the floor below the radiator. Perhaps the rad cap too, dunno.
Anyway, got myself an Mishimoto radiator (# MMRAD-CEL-89) and an Mishimoto thermostat (# MMTS-TC-05L). The TRD was 71°C and the Mischimoto is 68°C. But that is no problem, I can make changes for the fans in the Autronic, if needed.
The Mishimoto radiator is equiped with an new 1,3 bar rad cap, so that is nice too. My old cap was an 1,3 bar TRD cap.
Just find me some time to install the stuff. The car is at the painter now, due to some rust behind the left front wheel.

June - 2023 - Fuel leaking from Malpassi fuel pressure regulator.
Suddenly the Malpassi started to leak fuel. Found me an rebuild kit and all good now.
Rebuild kit Malpassi

Februar - 2023 - Tacho alive again.
New clusters did not work either. Solution was that the resistor, placed inline from igniter to tacho, was dead. This resistor was installed between Autronic and tacho, no idea why. Anyway, removed resistor and tacho came to life :-)

Found an company nearby who does make all kind off seals. Got me some good ones and the ERL is alive again, me happy.
Company for seals: Technirub.

January - 2023 - Tacho dead.
Installed new capacitors in the Tacho, but that does not help, bummer.
Got myself two clusters from the junkyard and I will see if I can get her to life.

The ERL valve is leaking again. Struggeling to find me correct seals.

December - 2022 - Yearly MOT.
MOT was done and fresh oil and filters. Checked valve clearance too, all good.
Old fuel lines were freshened up due to some fuel smell.

August - 2022 - Alternator burned (again).
The repairshop over here could not fix my alternator and could only supply an 70A alternator.
My old alternator appeared to be replaced by an 70A too.
So I searched the internet with part number: 27060-74300 (part number from Toyota for 80A unit).
Found one in Germany on Ebay, it says ND too, is 80A and an direct fit.

June - 2022 - Tank leaking.
Tank not available anymore, so let my sick tank repaired.
Tank: fixed tank.

May - 2022 - filler pipe and fuel tank leaking, *sigh*
Fixing the pipe was a nightmare. It took several attemps to get is leaking free. But finally it worked.
New pipe: Pipe.
Filling the tank was an nightmare, so we removed the plastic "door" at the end off the pipe. I think this door did not open wide enough resulting in flowing fuel back through the pipe over your hand, shoes, etc. Not good. :-(
Now it is better.

April - 2022 - I was able to adjust the silicon reducer and now the stock intercooler is back in place.
Modded reducer: reducer.
Reducer in place: reducer at throttle body.
Reducer with intercooler: with IC.
Final: reducer and intercooler ready.

Than the ERL water injection problems. The on/off water valve was leaking on the gaskets. Not easy to find and ERL does not carry them anymore.
Unfortunately ERL is not so fast with answers too anymore. Dunno why??
ERL valve: ERL valve and seals.
Anyway, at an local motorbike shop I was able to find me some other seals that fits and now I can pressure up the system.
So, this is tackled too. Lets hope that this ERL MF2 system (what is already 22 years in the car) does keep working, fingers crossed.

March - 2022 - ERL water injection failure, leaking manifold. Hope to hear soon from ERL if they can provide spare parts.
Throttle body adapter from intercooler is damaged. Not available anymore from Toyota. Ordered an piece from GT3play.uk, but that one is having an 60 mm inlet and the intercooler is having an 50 mm outlet.
I have to find me a way to make this work.
The GT4play adapter does not fit between the throttle body bracket (between head), but some grinding here and there solved this issue.
GT4play adapter on TB. FYI, the throttle body is 60 mm too.
Next issue is to determine if I am going to make an new intercooler or modify this one? Dunno.
In the mean time I ordered an silicon reducer 60 <=> 55 and see if I can make this work.
I do own this car for 27 years now and it is the first time I notice that the stock intercooler is not lined up correctly from the factory.... geeeezzz.
Pic 1: IC out off line 01 pic 2: IC out off line 02.

January - 2022 - Car passed MOT without big problems, nice.
Some small stuff, like front rotors an front left caliper was stuck. A rebuilded caliper did the trick.
Turbo is going strong, drove about 2.500 kms now. Time will tell.

July 7 - 2021 - = CT27 turbo problems.
Excessive smoke was telling me there was a problem. Investigation showed us that the turbo was damaged and the seals were gone.
Again, I regretet that I decided to buy an CT27 from ATS Racing. In 2000 I installed an upgraded CT26 from Performance Techniques and that worked fine for many many years.
The CT27 from ATS did give me nothing but a headache. Contacting Aaron Bunch from ATS did not help either. He kept moaning about bad tuning etc. But that was not the problem. The CT27 was the problem.
Since ATS left me in the cold I started searching in Holland for an good turbo rebuilder. And guess what, not far away (about 45 km) there was an turbo rebuilder that aready had experience with the CT26.
An company named TurboPro was able to rebuild the CT26/27 with new parts. Only a week downtime, so not bad at all.
Almost everything was damaged. The seals, the axle, the housing and both wheels. So actually an complete new turbo now, except the turbine and compressor housing.
Finally the ATS CT27 lasted about 10.000 kms. The Performance Techniques worked about 90.000 kms without any problems and if the T-Vis did not ruïned the engine, this turbo was probably still on the engine.

March 5 - 2021 - Hit 290.000 kms. Since May last year, no problems anymore. She is going really strong, me very happy :-)
Km picture.

May 26 - 2020 - Suspected that the T-Vis did not work, bummer. Took the laptop, checked and yes, malfunction! Since the T-Vis is as good as not reachable, removed the front wheel and tried to discover what is wrong. Find out that all is good except the plug/connector off the vsv. Only one wire attached in stead of two, so here is the error.
Find me a spare connector and I will try to swap the vsv connector.

May 13 - 2020 - Since every exhaust manifold tend to crack and new is not available, we decided to weld an old cracked one. Get me some gaskets and change the manifold. Welded exhaust manifold

May 2 - 2020 - Did some testing with a 5 mm spacer under the wastegate. Now, minimum boost is 0,7 bar and 1,0 bar is easily hit. Nice. At around 6.500 rpm, boost is dropping a little to 0,9 bar. I think I can live with that.
Since the exhaust manifold is cracked (again) and the turbo has to come off, I can adjust the Forge wastegate and make the same pre-tension as now with the 5 mm spacer. Other option is to install the 1 bar spring, provided with the Forge Wastegate, but than testing has to begin from the front again. So, I think I keep the 0,8 bar spring in the wastegate.

Oh, and the Omori 45 mm watertemperature gauge died. The watertemp sensor is short and the oiltemp sensor is showing signs of malfunction too... bummer.
Found me some replacement sensors, those are on the ocean now and probably soon in Holland. Sensors are coming from Auber in the USA: Auber
In case this is not going to work, I already bought a 45 mm gauge from Rico Instruments in Taiwan: Rico Instruments

April - 2020 - Well, now again, the exhaust manifold is having a crack too at the runner from cilinder 3. Bummer. Again disassemble from the turbo.
Before we swap the manifold, I tested with some boost levels with the wastegate manually stuck. Now she sees 1,3 bar easily. So further tweaking with the wastegate is required.

March - 2020 - Got the car back. The Ferrea exhaust valves are kept in the engine and the intake valve are swapped for used stock Toyota ones. Installed the Forge wastegate too, but still not able to push high boost.... sigh.

Januar - 2020 - Engine did not start (again). I did notice it last saturday: cold start, no compression and cold start idle with three cilinders. When warmed up: four cilinders. Hmmm, same as in august/september 2019.
This morning (jan 21) the car hardly started and at the end of the day, she did not fired up at all!!
So, the head must come off again to see what is wrong: the valves or the valve seats.
Drove about 3.500 kms since the last valve check.

October - 2019 - Rectifier died, installed an rebuilded alternator.

September - 2019 - Antenna malfunction. Plastic rod broke, so mast did not go down anymore. Replaced mast (Toyota: 86337-32200).

September - 2019 - Massive luck! It appears that all exhaust valves are good, but most intake valves are out of spec. Worse, valves from 3 and 4 are so tight that they can't close good enough.
So, bought some spare shims, let them machined to thin specs and installed them. Et voilá: compression is back.... pfwieuw. Geeeez, how much luck can you have...
Anyway, cold starts are good again and better: overall performance is better too. But maybe, it is only between my ears? Dunno? She sound bit more aggressive now under WOT and she feels stronger now. Need to connect the wide band to check A/F. Perhaps she is getting more air now than before with mapping.
The plan is to drive a 5.000 kms, check valve clearance again and than install the Forge actuator.

August - 2019 - Due to bad cold starts I checked compression. Well, it seems that cilinder 3 is having 6 bar and cilinder 4 is having 8 bar. So, further investigation is required. Later more.

Discovered water under the spare wheel?? Strange. Positioned myself in the car and let sombody else use a garden hose to discover the cause. Well, under the trunkrubber is an rustspot. Exact at that space, water was dripping into the car. So, that has to be fixed too.

Ordered an Forge wastegate actuator, with (multiple) different springs. If the engine must be opened again, we can easily swap the actuator and hoping to solve the low boost issues, Forge01 test fitted on old CT26 and Forge02 test fitted on old CT26.

Juli 5 - 2019 - Wiper blades bad. Swapped the rubbers. Toyota is having them under number: 85214-24H90. Or you can use aftermarket rubbers from Womi (750X6.3) and cut them at length.

Juni - 2019 - EVC is okay. Disconnected the pressure hose from the wastegate-actuator and boost is still maxed out at 0.8 bar. Not possible to reach high boost levels. So, I suspect the porting went so good that boost is pressing the wastegate open. Need to dig into that. No time now and on the other hand: the car is going strong. So later more.

April 5 - 2019 - Got car back. Special adapter made for oil adapter. Started the car with fresh oil and luckily for me, good oilpressure. So, no further damage.

April 1 - 2019 - During testing I noticed that boost is dropping from 1.0 to 0.8 bar now after 6.500 rpm. Dunno why, I suspect the HKS EVC 4. Anyway, during testing on the higway, I noticed an big blue cloud in the mirror, wat was the result of my engine waisting oil. It appears that the oil filter adapter plate was coming loose and the oil pump pumped the oil outside the engine.... sigh.
I was able to shut down the engine immediately, so I hope no critical damage occured.

March 2019 - Tested the new ported CT27, but we ported too much. With the first serious boosting, an whole was burnt into the turbine housing. We decided to weld it first. Welded turbine housing.

Februar 2019 - Fixed the sticky wastegate. Unfortunately boost is still rising over 1.2 bar at 7.000 rpm. I know myself, I cannot handle that: if there is an 0.6 bar wastegate installed, I think she should see 0.6 bar and not 1.2 bar. So, in two weeks, the turbo is going to be uninstalled and the wastegate is going te be ported. I read some articles about ported CT26 and CT20b wastegates with good result.
But, I do not understand why ATS is selling an high flowing CT26/CT27, install an 0.6 bar wastegate, but do not port the wastegate holes??? Weird stuff.

Februar 2019 - Boostcreep: wot in third gear pushed her over 1.4 bar at 5.500 rpm with an 0.6 bar wastegate. Waaaaay to much! Checking the wastegate learned us that it is sticky. So further investigation is required if it is the downpipe or the wastegate itself. Logfile.

Januar 2019 - Tested boost creep and made an log file with the Autronic. Second gear run. Don't look at the A/F ratio's, because there was nog analyzer atached. Log file. As you can see, boost creeped to over 1.0 bar. First run is without boostcontroller, second run is with boostcontroller. Dunno why she does this? My old CT26, with upgraded T04E wheel, creeped to 0.75 bar.

December 2018 - Broke the engine in, no time to map the car. First impression is good, power output is strong, but I think the CT27 is having boostcreep too, like the old upgraded CT26 had.

November 2018 - ERL waterinjection error. Cracked water line at the pump. Just shortened the water line an inch and ready.

October 2018 - Left fender was rusted, so new paint. New paint for the hood and some other parts paintwork 1 and paintwork 2.

September 3 2018 - Got car back: car at home :-).

July 2018 - Ferrea intake and exhaust valves, new pistonrings, new conrod bearings, other T-Vis, 1,5 mm Cometic MLS headgasket, CT27 turbo from ATS Racing. Parts: box 1 and box 2.
Link to ATS CT27 turbo.
Headwork: polished head 1 and polished head 2 and polished head 3 and polished head 4 and polished head 5.

T-vis good part. T-vis screw starting to come loose 1. T-vis screw starting to come loose 2.
Little movie: https://youtu.be/UvjDRutDr78.

October 2017 - Solved rust problems at the rear wheel arches. Fender rear left fixing. Fender rear left fixed.

May 2017 - Repaired upholstery driver seat. Seat damage. Repaired:fixet seat.

Februar 2017 - New back-up light switch.

Januar 2017 - Mocal oil cooler leaking. So new front oil cooler with new oil piping.

Januar 2017 - Four new injectors, four nozzle ST205 injectors. Lookes very like the cheap Chinese Ali injectors: injector. Strange enough, the ST205 injectors were cheaper than the Supra injectors?? Installing. Old and new. The old Supra injectors had "Denso" stamped on them, the new ones not... hmmm. Dual feed fuel rail.

November 2016 - Sold Nardi steerinwheel and bought cheap ebay Momo steering wheel. The Momo is an cheap Ebay wheel, eventhough it is a very nice wheel, feels good and nice grip Fake Momo. Sold the Nardi.

March 2016 - New rear left caliper. Bad pic of caliper.
