Received an schematic to make me an tacho adapter, needed for the stock Celica tacho. The CDI output is not capable to drive the tacho.
First this drawing did not work, but that was with two 1K Ohm resistors. With two 10K Ohm resistors, the tacho was working fine. With thanks to Ray Hall. Don't forget to disassamble the car relay. Otherwise the relay is clicking at every rpm...... not nice.....
Since the CDI, I noticed that idle is a tad higher, and the KnockLink is giving me the red light more often than it used to do. So I suspect that with the CDI, base ignition is some degrees more advanced than with the stock setup. Have to find me a timing light, and some time to fix this.
I moved the sparkplug wires, and the coil as far away is possible from the distributor, and interference is gone now. So, now I just have to make a new bracket, and I am lost from this dancing lights, as soon as I go WOT.... me happy :)
